MARKETING ASSISTANT FULL TIME, EDINBURGH NEW TOWN

A rare opportunity has come up to join Genius Gluten Free based in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town. You’d be joining a passionate, experienced team working on a fast-paced & exciting brand in a high growth category.

JOB ROLE

The Marketing Assistant operates as part of the Genius Marketing Team - a small but experienced team of 6. You would be based full-time out of the Edinburgh office but occasional travel will be required to agencies and events within the UK.
Working closely with the UK senior band manager, you would be responsible for Genius Gluten Free’s UK social media channels, websites, consumer shows and events, and day to day running of branded communications across touch points. 

KEY TASKS

The main duties of this role would include:
  • Assisting with the roll out of the brand proposition of ‘What’s Your Gut Feeling’ in the UK, with ownership of our social channels ensuring posted content is aligned to the social strategy of the brand and working with media and creative agencies where required.
  •    - Responding to queries, questions and comments on social media with customer care, always in the Genius Tone of Voice.
       - Managing monthly photoshoots to create required content for social and sell ins.
       - Improve social performance by using analysis tools like social listening, Google Dashboard and media reports to continue to develop the social media strategy.
  • Managing relationships with key influencers including post creation & payment.
  • Lead SEO & PPC working closely with digital agency: including ownership of website content to drive better metrics on Google.
  • Be a champion of the marketing team spirit internally including leading internal brand days to keep the business up to date with plans and activities.
  • Management of all visual content (photography, animation & video). Create & maintain an intranet based image and artwork library.
  • Maintenance and management of all of the Genius websites (with help from local agencies for language specific edits).
  • Administrative duties including budget management, raising purchase orders, organising post / couriers and raising & managing sample requests.

EXPERIENCE & KEY SKILLS

  • Qualification or experience in marketing preferred but not essential. You should have a passion for marketing, understanding consumers and all things digital / social.
  •  Strong creative skills essential (copywriting and a good eye for detail in particular).
  • You should have professional or personal understanding of digital marketing and social media channels.
  • Web CMS experience beneficial.
  • Very well organised, comfortable to juggle priorities and able to complete projects on time and in full.
  • You should enjoy working to timescales, and often tight deadlines.
  • Have a positive and optimistic attitude.
  • You will be a self-starter, keen to take the initiative and enjoy working in a busy environment.
  • You should be confident in Microsoft Office software, particularly Powerpoint and Excel.
  • You should be confident and articulate in both written and verbal communication.
